After releasing his first new solo single in three years a few weeks ago, Kurt Vile has officially announced his upcoming studio album, Bottle It In, which will be released on October 12, along with sharing a new single and a batch of tour dates with his band The Violators.

Watch the lyric video for new single “Bassackwards” below, featuring plenty of sepia-toned home video accompanying Vile’s signature laid-back guitar picking and vocal delivery, with a bit of backmasking recording techniques to highlight the song’s title.

Vile and The Violators will hit the road next month for a number of European dates before returning to the States in late November. The newly added dates begin with a December 29 hometown show in Philadelphia, along with a cross-country trip in February, March and April.
