As previously reported, former Allman Brothers Band guitarist Dickey Betts kicked off his comeback tour in the band’s old stomping grounds of Macon, GA, last week, and besides the several sit ins during Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band’s after-party, there were additional collaborations at a show featuring Berry Oakley Jr. (son of founding ABB bassist), former members of the legendary southern-rock group and more.

On Thursday night after Betts’ show, Oakley Jr. played with keyboardist Johnny Neel, who had a stint with ABB, along with a number of Dickey Betts Band members, including Betts’ son and guitarist Duane. Former ABB guitarist Jack Pearson was also part of the festivities, which ran well into the night.

After the Macon shows, Dickey Betts’ manager David Spero shared a backstage photo (above) of Betts, Pearson, Neel and Bonnie Bramlett (one-half of Delaney and Bonnie who toured with ABB in the late ’70s).
