Jennifer Mydland, daughter of late Grateful Dead keyboardist Brent Mydland, made her live debut over the weekend with a performance at the Town Hall Theatre in the family’s hometown of Lafayette, CA.
As Deadheadland notes, Jennifer was backed during the show by two Bay Area regulars, Pat Nevins and Scott Guberman, who has played with Phil Lesh & Friends. The four-song set featured covers of Amy Winehouse’s “Valerie,” the Kris Kristofferson-penned “Me and Bobby McGee” and a finale of Traffic’s “Dear Mr. Fantasy,” a song covered by the Grateful Dead with Brent on vocals.
