Yesterday morning, the new class of Rock and Roll inductees was revealed, and one of the six acts chosen is iconic rockers Pearl Jam. The Hall of Fame also listed the specific members who will be inducted from the band: Jeff Ament, Matt Cameron, Stone Gossard, Dave Krusen, Mike McCready and Eddie Vedder. Former PJ drummer Dave Abbruzzese, who recently urged his former bandmates to push to include his name on the nominees list, now has some more words for his exclusion from the inductees list.

Abbruzzese initially reposted a comment from a friend that said, “So… Rock & Roll Hall of Fucktardia. Ergh. It makes absolutely zero sense to me…” followed by a statement from the RRHOF that reads: “As the original ballot is created, the members of each eligible band are determined by largely who was present and active during the most influential recording years.” Abbruzzese’s friend then followed up with “I’m not sure how 275+ live shows and 38% of record sales doesn’t fit their criteria…”

The drummer, who came into the band shortly after their seminal record Ten and stayed until being fired in 1994. In the same Facebook post where he quoted the friend’s note, Abbruzzese, at first, simply said he may comment more later and that he looks forward to releasing his first solo album and that he thanks his friends and fans “for sharing your opinions & for your love & support.”

Soon after, however, Abbruzzese followed up in the post, noting the Alternative Nation article that mentioned his comment on the RRHOF’s decision, saying the website was “trying to twist it into idiocy. They even attempted to use a simple show of support from one of my closest friends to create something.”

The drummer then went on to provide his own statement on the exclusion, saying that he has “certainly” met the RRHOF’s qualifications for inclusion in Pearl Jam’s induction and that the committee’s decision “make my years of hard work appear to be worthless towards the success born of the formative years of Pearl Jam. This is simply not the case…Someone need only to pull their head out of their ass and add my name.”

Read the note below:

The qualifications required for me to have been inducted with my former band mates certainly have been met. I challenge anyone to justify why I am not worthy of a place in the history of Pearl Jam. The official reason given from the RRHOF makes it bullshit. It make my years of hard work appear to be worthless towards the success born of the formative years of Pearl Jam. This is simply not the case. The milestones and the success obtained during my period in the band…
The Grammy, AMA’s, Mtv awards, over 20 plus million albums sold.
Mtv Unplugged performance.
SNL twice, etc. Over 275 shows

For anyone to take a stand for denying my right to be recognized, I deserve to hear how you are possibly justifying such an absolute travesty.
Statistics and the opinions of the Pearl jam fans voiced on social media for the last 20 plus years will attest to that.
Someone need only to pull their head out of their ass and add my name.
‘Nuff said?
Thank you, everyone!!
