Eddie Harsch, keyboardist for the newly formed Magpie Salute and former Black Crowes member has passed away.

“It is with the saddest of hearts that we bid farewell to our dear friend Eddie Harsch,” Rich Robinson said. “Eddie was a brilliant musician, with a beautiful heart. We should remember Eddie for his music, his great sense of humor, and his positive outlook on life.”

Harsch’s tenure with the Crowes spanned from 1991 to 2006 before he was ultimately replaced on keyboards by Rob Clores and subsequently Adam MacDougall. Harsh recently teamed with former Crowes members Rich Robinson, Marc Ford and Sven Pipien (among others from Rich Robinson’s solo band) as the newly formed Magpie Salute, set to make their live debut on January 19 in New York City.
