On Saturday, August 8, Grateful Dead Archivist and Legacy Manager David Lemieux will host and participate in a special event. Lemieux will join the Grateful Dead Run Club for a guided seven-mile run. The organization notes, “At each location, Dave will take us inside the history – the performances, recordings and stories that made New York essential to the Grateful Dead’s journey.”

The run will begin at East 4th Street and Lafayette Street. From there the stops will include:

Madison Square Garden

Radio City Music Hall

Central Park’s Naumburg Bandshell

Beacon Theatre

The event will begin at 9:30 AM on August 8. This is not a road race, it’s a running tour. The first 50 participants to sign up will receive a free GDRC hat.
