Texas guitar mainstay Jimmie Vaughan sat in with his old friend Eric Clapton in Austin, TX last night. The performance took place at the Frank Erwin Center as part of his current tour in support of Old Sock. Clapton’s current run celebrates his 50th year as a professional musician.

Vaughan emerged five songs into Clapton’s set for a take on “Black Cat Bone.” Clapton’s touring band consists of Doyle Bramhall II (guitar), Greg Leisz (pedal steel guitar), Chris Stainton (piano, keyboards), Paul Carrack (organ, keyboards), Willie Weeks (bass), Steve Jordan (drums), Michelle John (backing vocals) and Sharon White (backing vocals). In honor of his anniversary, Clapton’s setlists have been particularly diverse, including material from all periods in his career. Carrack also sang a few songs from his catalog, including Squeeze’s “Tempted” (his hit with Squeeze) and Ace’s “How Long.”
