Widespread Panic frontman John Bell hosted his 13th annual Hannah’s Buddies benefit in Florida over the weekend. The annual music and golf charity event supports Spinal Muscular Atrophy research. After a day of golf on Friday, the weekend-long event culminated with a dinner, silent auction and night of music at Orlando, FL’s House of Blues. The evening’s lineup featured performances by Bell, The Warren Haynes Band and Nickel and the Polar Bears.

Bell started off his set solo acoustic but invited Haynes out at the end of his segment for Robert Johnson’s “Me and the Devil Blues,” a first-time cover of Neil Young’s Prairie Wind song “This Old Guitar” and Willie Nelson’s “Whiskey River.” Bell also showed off his instrumental prowess by switching from acoustic guitar to six-string banjo and dobro at various points throughout the performance. In addition, Bell sat in with Warren Haynes Band for Blind Faith’s “Can’t Find My Way Home” and Bill Withers’ “Use Me.” Florida resident and Lee Boys leader Roosevelt Collier also sat in for the segment.

Bell will only play select shows for the rest of the year while Panic is on hiatus.
