A bit more from the Warren Haynes Band’s Stoned: Halloween on the Sly on Saturday night in San Francisco

Last night the Warren Haynes Band made their way to the Ogden Theatre in Denver for a special Halloween performance. The Godfather of Soulshine show saw the group present a set of original material followed by a set of music associated with James Brown. The entire evening, which was broadcast live on Sirius/XM, saw the group expand during the second set with Big Sam Williams and Rashawn Ross joining Ron Holloway on brass attack. The band then interpreted many of Brown’s signature songs including “Papa’s Got A Brand New Bag,” “It’s A Man’s World,” “Pass The Peas” “Please, Please, Please” and “I Feel Good.” Two nights earlier the Warren Haynes Band devoted a set of music at San Francisco’s Warfield to the sounds of Sly & The Family Stone.

Tomorrow the WHB moves on to Tulsa for a show at Cain’s.
