The cast and band from the Broadway musical FELA! will perform a free show in Brooklyn at 6:30 PM on October 4. The show will take place on Pier 1 in Brooklyn Bridge Park. The free evening of entertainment will feature music from the hit Broadway show, which is based on the life of Fela Kuti. Sahr Ngaujah, who plays Fela in the musical, will perform, along with mainstays of Fela! house band (several of whom are members of Antibalas). Antibalas trombonist Aaron Johnson will serve as the event’s musical director.
