Earlier this morning Phish quietly released the new single Time Turns Elastic via iTunes. Trey Anastasio first performed the thirteen-minute multi-part composition in Nashville this past September and recently played the orchestra piece in Baltimore. The songwhich the guitarist wrote in Saratoga Springs, NY last yearis believed to be one of the tracks the band recorded in New York this spring with producer Steve Lillywhite. All four members of the group have been spotted in Manhattan in recent weeks and Mike Gordon, in particular, has frequented the area club circuit.
Update: Though fans first caught wind of the new track early in the morning, Phish officially announced the track around 10:30 AM via a video splash page on Phish.com.
