Seminal country-rock group Poco will reunite in Indio, CA on April 26 as part of the Stagecoach music festival. Though Rusty Young and Paul Cotton still tour under the Poco name with a new band this is the first time the collaborators will perform with core members Richie Furay and Jim Messina. Onetime member Timothy B. Schmit, who later found fame in the Eagles, will also make a special appearance with the reunited group and the bands original George Grantham will also be in attendance. Grantham is unable to perform because of a stroke he suffered a few years ago.
‘The reunion with Richie Furay, Jimmy Messina, and Timothy B. Schmit at Stagecoach will celebrate Poco’s past, as well as its present, Young said in a statement. I’m glad everyone still feels the same commitment to our music, our friendships, and our fans that we had over forty years ago when Poco began. It should be a memorable day for everyone.’
Stagecoach: California’s Country Music Festival will take place on April 25 and 26. Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, Reba and Kid Rock are among the festivals headliners.
