Jam Cruise has acknowledged the challenges of doing business in the current economic climate and will now morph into a thrifty, cost-saving alternative. Jam Kayak will premiere in January 2010 with festivalgoers assigned to specific kayaks based on their needs. Musicians will perform nearby in swank flotation devices, which fans can move away from when the music becomes tired or turgid. In order to reduce festival costs, the performers also will be on Food & Beverage service, tossing food at folks as they paddle past. Pre-booking will end later this month for Jam Kayak 2010, with just under 7,000 reservations currently available.
