Festival International de Jazz de Montr will celebrate its 30th anniversary this summer. This years festivities will take place from July 1-12 throughout Montreal, boasting over 650 shows by 3,000 musiciansincluding 370 free performances. Festival highlights include Jackson Browne, Ornette Coleman Quartet, Jeff Beck, King Sunny Ade and Femi Kuti & The Positive Force, Beirut Chris Botti, Pink Martini & Orchestra, Wayne Shorter Quartet, George Wein and the Newport All-Stars, Buddy Guy, Susan Tedeschi, Melody Gardot, Chucho Vald Quintet, Madeleine Peyroux, Patricia Barber, Kenny Garrett and The Lost Fingers. In addition, the Gary Burton Quartet Revisited will bring together Pat Metheny, Steve Swallow and Antonio Sanchez. Many additional acts will be confirmed in the coming months.
