Charlie Hunter is now out on the road with a quartet that also features drummer Eric Kalb, Cochemea ‘Cheme’ Gastelum on sax and trumpet player Eric Biondo. On Saturday night at The B-Side Lounge in Boulder, Mike Dillon’s Go-Go Jungle and The Bridge shared a bill which served as the after show party for Hunter’s group, who appeared earlier that night at The Boulder Theater. During Go-Go Jungle’s set, Dillon brought out Hunter on guitar, Gastelum on baritone sax and The Bridge’s Kenny Liner on beatbox for a series of extended improvisations. Mike Dillon’s Go-Go Jungle just released their new album Rock Star Bench Press,’ while Gastelum is working on his own disc under the moniker Johnny Arrow, produced by Adam Dorn, aka Mocean Worker, which will feature members of The Dap-Kings.
