Confirming numerous rumors, Led Zeppelin’s Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones reunited to perform with the Foo Fighters at London’s Wembley Stadium on Saturday. The former bandmates took the stage with the Foo Fighters at the start of their encore to run through Led Zeppelin classics ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll’ and ‘Ramble On.’ For ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll,’ Grohl even resumed his Nirvana post behind the kit, while Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins handled Robert Plant’s lead vocals. Jones also recently joined the Foo Fighters for a rendition of ‘The Pretender’ at the 2008 Grammy Awards. Ever since Grohl attended Led Zeppelin’s high profile reunion in December, there has been speculation that he will play drums with the group on an upcoming world tour. Plant is currently on the road with Alison Krauss supporting their new album Raising Sand. The odd couple will perform at Atlantic City, NJ’s Borgata this evening.
