The San Francisco Giants will be home through the weekend, with series against the Reds, then the Diamondbacks. Music fans who attend this week’s games at Oracle Park will have an opportunity to see some of Mickey Hart’s artwork. He currently has an installation underway, which will extend through the team’s current homestand.

Hart’s pieces include “Home Plate” which is pictured above, as well as “Djembe Tuning Rope.” He says of the latter:

The magic of music lies in its ability to transform both within and without. Just as the rhythm transforms with each new song, the act of playing music transforms the minds of performers and listeners alike.

Such is the power of Drums/Space, as some of you know well. My 3D scanned drums, once floating in space during Dead & Co at Sphere Vegas, have now transformed into new visions, trading an extra dimension for a kaleidoscopic whirlwind of detail.

“Djembe Tuning Rope” debuts as a large scale installation at @sfgiants Oracle Park for the month of August.

A limited edition metal print of “Djembe Tuning Rope” is available at mickeyhartart.com along with additional pieces of Hart’s work.
