Keyboardist Butch Taylor has unexpectedly left Dave Matthews Band. A message posted on the groups official page says, Keyboardist Butch Taylor has decided to leave Dave Matthews Band. We are saddened by this sudden news but he has our full support. Hes given so much to us and our audience through the years and he will be missed. The keyboardist first performed with DMB on the 1998 album Before These Crowded Streets and its extended support tour. He has performed at each of the groups gigs since 2001. A longtime friend on the Dave Matthews Band, Taylor played with drummer Carter Beauford and guitarist Tim Reynolds in the pre-DMB group Secrets and attended college with saxophonist LeRoi Moore. The reasons for his departure are unknown.
