Earlier this spring, violinist Ann Marie Calhoun recently won a chance to play with the Foo Fighters on television as part of the My Grammy Moment contest (although may be better known around these circles for her performance of Phish’s ‘Stash’). Over recent months she has guested with The Disco Biscuits and Yonder Mountain String Band. This past weekend, Calhoun experienced Widespread Panic. She performed with the group for much of its second set at Walnut Creek Amphitheater in Raleigh, adding fiddle to a segued sequence that included ‘Driving,’ ‘Surprise Valley,’ ‘Heaven’ and ‘Driving Song.’ Next up for Calhoun is a May 10 appearance with Dave Stewart and Bob Geldof. On Tuesday Widespread Panic is in Columbia, SC at the Township Auditorium.
