A number of New Orleans musicians will come together to play a benefit for sousaphonist Kirk Joseph, who recently suffered a heart attack. The benefit will take place a Tipitinas on March 28, featuring performances by Josephs onetime bandmates the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Rebirth Brass Band, Anders Osborne, Papa Mali, Big Sam, Eric Lindell, June Yamagishi, 101 Runners, Trombone Shorty, Jealous Monk and the Tuba Choir. One can also imagine that a number of additional guests will also pop in throughout the night. The Dirty Dozen Brass Band is currently touring Europe and will appear at Belgiums Handelsbeurs this evening.
