Umphreys McGee used its short home turf run through the Midwest this weekend to catch up with some old friends both on and off the stage. On Friday the group played Urbana, ILs Canopy Club and brought out former OM Trio keyboardist Brian Felix for Bright Lights and Ringo. Then on Saturday the group performed at Cincinnati, OHs Taft Theatre and invited Rays Music Exchanges Nick Blasky to sing lead on a first time cover of Lionel Richies Easy. Umphreys McGee drummer Kris Myers will perform at Chicagos Webster’s Wine Bar with bassist Brian Daugherty and keyboardist Vijay Tellis-Nayak tomorrow.
