Phil Lesh returned to the stage last night at S.O.B.s in New York City with a slightly different version of his Phil Lesh and Friends band. While drummer Jaz Sawyer performed on Monday, the Tuesday show featured Leshs longtime Friend John Molo behind the kit (reportedly Molo had been set to perform on Monday but was sidelined due to food poisoning). Meanwhile, Trey Anastasio vocalist Christina Durfee who represented for rumored Friend Anastasio. In addition, longtime Lesh collaborator Warren Haynes appeared on guitar for nearly half the show, including versions of Ship of Fools, Blow Away, Cold Rain and Snow and Viola Lee Blues. Other highlights included the Franklin’s Tower opener as well as a closing run from Cryptical Envelopment into The Other One and then on into Terrapin Station. At present, Lesh has no other confirmed dates.
