The seventh Freaks Ball, the annual gathering hosted by influential Yahoo-group the NYC Freaks, will take place January 27 at Brooklyn, NYs Southpaw. The event, which helped launch the careers of Robert Randolph, the Duo and RANA, will feature a handful of acts including Apollo Sunshine, Chris Harford & Band of Changes and The Dansettes, in addition to a variety of DJs.
Chris Harford & Band of Changes will also perform a set of music on WXPN’s World Cafe Live at noon today. The stacked incarnation of Band of Changes will include Harford, Dave Dreiwitz (Ween), Scott Metzger (RANA), Eric Slick (Adrian Belew Band), Aaron Freeman (Gene Ween), and Mickey Melchiondo (Dean Ween).
