Former New Groove of the Month U-Melt, who is currently on tour in support of their latest studio release The I’s Mind, played their first show in Chicago last Friday at the Windy City’s Kinetic Playground. Towards the end of their first set, U-Melt invited Umphrey’s McGee’s drummer Kris Myers to sit in on a second drum kit during a cover of MMW’s Bubblehouse, which included an extended drum duel segment between Myers and U-Melt’s drummer George Miller. Umphrey’s McGee will perform Wednesday at Seattles The Showbox, while U-Melt will continue their The I’s Mind tour at South Burlington, Vermont’s Higher Ground Friday.
