Continuing the weeks series of AM performances, tomorrow morning a number of veteran downtown Manhattan musicians will celebrate the release of Baby Loves Jazz at New Yorks Joes Pub. Created by Ropeadope founder Andy Blackman Hurwitz, Baby Loves Music began as a way for parents to introduce their children to different genres without dubbing down the content or presentation; its real music played by real musicians. Recently, Hurwitz teamed with Sex Mob trumpeter Steven Bernstein to create Baby Loves Jazz, a collection of childrens songs interpreted in a variety of jazz styles. Bernstein John Medeski, Sharon Jones (the Dap Kings), Babi Floyd (Rolling Stones, Steely Dan), Lonnie Plaxico (Dizzy Gillespie, Cassandra Wilson) and John Ellis (Charlie Hunter) will perform children’s selections together at 11 AM and 3 PM at Joes Pub.
