Golem, the band that occupies its own novel space where Eastern Europe Meets The Lower East Side, will release its latest studio record on August 22. The six-piece, which draws from traditional Yiddish tunes and flavors Slavic sounds with klezmer and punk, has dubbed the release Fresh Off Boat, as bandleader Annette Ezekiel heard a number of these songs from FOBs (recent immigrants fresh off boat’). Joining the group on this disc are such guests as: Mike Gordon, Amanda Palmer (Dresden Dolls) and Lenny Kaye (Patti Smith). Golem will mark the release of Fresh Off Boat, quite fittingly, with a performance on a Rocks Off Concert Cruise to take place Thursday, August 10th.
