Tonight, Widespread Panic kickoff its three-night run at Morrison, CO’s Red Rocks. In addition to the core sextet, longtime Panic producer John Keane will join the group onstage on both guitar and pedal steel. Keane, who performed with the band at New York’s Irving Plaza last week and Kansas City, MO’s Starlight Theatre Wednesday, is believed to be touring with Widespread Panic for its entire summer run. While his collaborations have been sporadic in the past, Keane is a favorite guest among longtime Spreadheads, praised for his ability to reinterpret Michael Houser’s signature guitar style. Currently, Widespread Panic holds the record for most sellout performances at the famed Colorado venue.
