Festival season now appears to be in full swing. Among the year’s first offerings was the Morrisville, PA’s Dancing Wu Li Festival, which took place at Snipes Farm on Friday and Saturday. A number of notable bands appeared on the first annual festival, including RAQ, Blues Traveler, Keller Williams, Steve Kimock, The Breakfast, the Stanton Moore Trio and the Pnuma Trio, among others. RAQ opened its performance with a series of instrumentals, later offering a choice cover of the Police’s ‘Message in a Bottle.’ After a generator failure left the group in the dark during a version of ‘Nasty,’ RAQ performed by tiki torch until the power returned later in the jam. On Saturday, Pnuma Trio keyboardist Ben Hazlegrove called in sick, RAQ’s Chris Michetti and Todd Stoops also joined the electronic trio along with MJ Project keyboardist Ian McGuire for two hours of improvisation. During Keller Williams’ set, Steve Kimock also emerged for a version of ‘Ninja.’
