Nugs.net has worked with many of the artists who now participate in its Live Downloads Series to release Union Justice & Confidence: A nugs.net Benefit Album for New Orleans Musicians. This two disc set features numerous tracks that originated from New Orleans venues, including offerings from Widespread Panic (‘Fishwater,’ Tipitina’s, 6/26/96), Phish (‘Possum,’ Tipitina’s, 11/7/91), Govt Mule (‘I’ll Be The One’ The Orpheum, 4/29/05), Benevento/Russo Duo featuring Mike Gordon (‘Best Reason to Buy The Sun,’ TwiRoPa, 4/30/05), The Radiators (‘Number Two Pencil,’ Tipitina’s, 4/28/05), Galactic ( ‘Tiger Roll>Space Headz March’ Tipitina’s, 2/5/05) and The String Cheese Incident (‘Missin’ Me,’ Tipitina’s, 5/1/99). Other contributors include The Radiators, Dave Matthews Band, Umphreys McGee, Tea Leaf Green and Trey Anastasio, who offers the most recent selection, ‘Low’ from the McCarter Theatre in Princeton, NJ on 11/14/05. Revenues from sales will benefit The Tipitina’s Foundation, New Orleans Musician’s Hurricane Relief Fund New Orleans Musicians Clinic and Conscious Alliance.
