Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey has confirmed additional fall dates, including several acoustic shows. The trio – comprised of keyboardist Brian Haas, bassist Reed Mathis and drummer Jason Smart is currently touring behind Telluride is Acoustic, which was recorded in August of 2002 at the Telluride Jazz Festival. To promote the disc, the band will perform acoustically at the following gigs: October 10 and 11 at Millers in Charlotte, VA, October 13 and 14 at Montage in Rochester, NY, October 15 at The Buttonwood Tree in Middletown, CT, October 16 at Ryles Jazz Club in Cambridge, MA, and October 18 and 19 at the Knitting Factory in New York City. For Halloween, the band will play an electric show at Jakes Sports Cafn Lubbock, TX.
The acoustic shows feature Hass on grand piano, Smart on drums and Mathis on acoustic bass and cello. The group also plans to release Walking with Giants, an acoustic studio album due in early 2004.
