NEW ORLEANS – DJ Logic joined Charlie Hunter last night at the Mermaid Lounge. Hunters current ensemble features John Ellis and Derrek Phillips, who were joined by Logic for a portion of the marathon second set. The highlight of the night came when Hunter took a rare traditional blues solo, as the rest of the band layed out. Logics appearance comes as no surprise as hes performing late night sets at the Mermaid for the duration of Jazz Fest, April 24 May 4.
Hunter plays tomorrow at Twiropa as a member of Garage A Trois, along with Stanton Moore, Skerik and Mike Dillon. For his full schedule, visit www.charliehunter.com.
