Keyboardist Rob Barraco and multi-instrumentalist Jason Crosby took the stage with the Zen Tricksters for two shows Saturday at the Bottom Line in New York City. Both Barraco (Phil & Friends, The Other Ones) and Crosby (Susan Tedeschi, Project Z) are former members of the band. The set lists included a wealth of material from the Tricksters’ new album, Shaking Off the Weirdness, including All Night Long Blues and Sleepwalking. In addition, the early show concluded with a version of The Beatles Dont Pass Me By, which featured members of the Kerry Kearney Band and Professor ‘Louie’ and the Crowmatix featuring Mike Falzarano (Hot Tuna). Other special guests included Christian Cassan (Rumor Has It) and Wendy Lanter (Hope in Time).
The Zen Tricksters kick off their winter tour January 9 at the Pour House in Raleigh, NC. For the complete itinerary, visit www.zentricksters.com.
