New Yorks Lions Den will re-open tonight after being closed since Tuesday. This evenings show, which was originally scheduled to be a co-bill with Addison Groove Project and Umphreys McGee, will now feature Dexter Grove and Umphreys. Addison Groove Project released the following statement this morning: In light of Tuesdays tragic event, we feel that playing just a few blocks from the rescue operation would be unimaginable to us. However, we fully respect the decision of Umphrey’s McGee and Dexter Grove to go ahead with the show.
Umphreys McGee offered these sentiments: Our hearts go out to all those who were affected by Tuesdays terrible tragedy. However, if we continue to live in fear, then the enemy has won. With that in mind, we will continue with our scheduled show at Lions Den in the hopes that music will help sooth all of our agony.
Addison Groove Project will perform two sets tomorrow at Northern Lights in Clifton Park, NY. Strangefolk was originally scheduled to headline the show, but because of travel issues will no longer be able to play.
