Drive-By Truckers will celebrate New Year’s Eve at New York’s Terminal 5. Last night, the group warmed-up for the show with a more intimate appearance at Brooklyn, NY’s Brooklyn Bowl. During the Truckers’ set, Patterson Hood’s father—noted studio musician David Hood—played bass on “Dancing Ricky,” The Staples Singers’
“Respect Yourself” and “Everybody Needs Love.” The elder Hood worked with The Staples Singers during his long career as a working musician in Muscle Shoals, AL. David Hood will join the Truckers at Terminal 5 tonight while Brooklyn Bowl will host The Roots this evening.
