Jonathan Wilson will join country music legend Wanda Jackson for a special performance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno later this evening. Jackson released her 31st studio album Unfinished Business last month. This isn’t the first time that Jackson has collaborated with a younger musician- her latest record was produced by Justin Townes Earle (read a review here) while her last proper studio effort, 2011’s The Party Ain’t Over, was helmed by Jack White. Meanwhile, Wilson has done just the opposite in producing a forthcoming Roy Harper record and recently appearing with Bob Weir at a benefit concert for wounded veterans at the Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, CA. The psych-folk rocker also recently played a free webcast at Weir’s TRI Studios and sat in with Furthur at the Greek Theatre on October 5. The Tonight Show with Jay Leno is broadcast on NBC at 11:30PM week nights
