The Divided Sky Foundation has launched a giveaway for a custom Languedoc G2 guitar, personally donated by storied luthier Paul Languedoc. The coveted instrument was hand-crafted in 2011 and has been preserved in its original state since, save for its use by Trey Anastasio during soundcheck for Phish’s Oct. 27, 2024 show at Albany, N.Y.’s MVP Arena. All proceeds from the prize drawing will go towards the Divided Sky Foundation’s mission to support individuals affected by addiction and foster sobriety through the Divided Sky Residential Recovery Program.
While Languedoc’s instruments are exceedingly rare in general, and were available exclusively for Anastasio and Mike Gordon for a long period, the G2 offered by Divided Sky is one-of-one. In keeping with the luthier’s noted preference for European hardwoods, the guitar features a European curly maple top, while the body is constructed from Santos rosewood, known for its warm, rich tone. It is the only Languedoc guitar ever produced with a cherry binding. The instrument is subtly marked with Anastasio’s signature and comes coupled with a framed photograph of the legendary guitarist performing with it. Languedoc guitars rarely go on the market, but the most recent new offerings sold nearly immediately at a minimum of $67,500.
The Divided Sky Foundation’s giveaway is live now on Fandiem. No purchase or donation is necessary for entry, but donations to the charity earn additional entries. Donations will be accepted until Jan. 8, 2026, before the prize drawing on Jan. 9. Enter for your chance to win here. Learn more about the
