Poolside Productions announced that the all-star Grateful Dead Celebration AXIAL TILT will bring their music veneration and stylings to SOMO Village in Rohner Park, Calif., on Saturday and Sunday, July 23 and 24.
AXIAL TILT initially came together in New Orleans during Jazz Fest in 2015 to celebrate the Grateful Dead’s 50th Anniversary and has continued to occur at every Jazz Fest since, however, July’s shows will mark the first time the celebration will head to the birthplace of the band they so deeply revere.
The special AXIAL TILT shows will feature five hours of live Grateful Dead Music, comprised of one acoustic set and two electric, with no songs repeated on either night. The gathering will welcome some of the most respected names in the extended Grateful Dead family, including guitarist Stu Allen (Phil Lesh & Friends, Stu Allen & Mars Hotel), guitarist Rob Eaton (Dark Star Orchestra), vocalist Lisa Mackey (Dark Star Orchestra), keyboardist Mitch Stein (CRYPTICAL, Gatorators), bassist Stephen Ramirez (CRYPTICAL, Zen Tricksters), drummer Jay Lane (RatDog, Wolf Brothers, Primus) and percussionist Wally Ingram (Bob Weir + Phil Lesh Duo). Past lineups of the two-night event have included Donna Jean Godchaux, Joan Osborne, Charles Neville and more.
