Strangefolk drummer Luke Smith will take the stage with members of Raw Deluxe tonight at Brunos in San Francisco. Luke, along with Chris Arenas and Matt Fleming, will perform under the moniker Soulfire. The trio concentrates on soul-jazz. In between Strangefolk tours, I’ve been spending a lot of time in San Francisco, playing with Chris and Matt, says Smith. We had an impromptu gig at Bruno’s this spring which turned out to be a great time. We even had a harpist and some interpretive dance going on in there. Tonight we’re hoping for more of the same, stoking the fires with our acoustic instrumentation. Showtime is 10 p.m.
Strangefolk will play a handful of dates on the East Coast next week, beginning at the Recher Theatre in Towson, MD on September 12. For details, visit the bands official website.
