Guitarist Al Schnier joined his friends, Reid Genauer and the Assembly of Dust over the weekend in New York. Saturday at the Water Street Music Hall in Rochester, Schnier stepped in for Dance at the end of the first set. The previous night at Northern Lights in Clifton Park, Al added vocals and guitar to Neil Youngs Comes A Time and then took a spirited solo in Lines and Circles.
Schnier, who has performed countless times with the members of AOD over the years (with Strangefolk and Percy Hill primarily), opened both shows with al.one sets. While this moniker typically refers to his electronic duo with Mitch Getz, this weekend’s gigs were solo acoustic.
The Assembly of Dust plays next on Halloween in Winooski, VT. Fans can enter a contest to win tickets and accommodations through Magic Hat.. For the bands full schedule, visit www.assemblyofdust.com.
