After an initial announcement on his web site this past April, long-time Phish lyricist Tom Marshall has finally released the debut CD from Amfibian, entitled From The Ether. In 2000 Marshall produced Amfibian Tales a project attributed to ‘Tom Marshall & Co.’ that included a number of players who would go on to perform in Amfibian (some of whom would later form RANA). The current incarnation of Amfibian is comprised of a new collection of musicians, including guitarist Anthony Krizan (who stepped in for Eric Shenkman at the time of the Spin Doctors’ third studio album) and keyboardist Chris Mexatas who co-wrote all the material on the new disc, save ‘Lambertville’ which was written by Marshall and Trey Anastasio. Marshall is expected to perform some dates with the new band later this year. For now the disc is availble at the Phish Dry Goods web site.
