Despite the New Deal’s pledge not to tour in 2004 the trio keeps receiving offers that it can’t quite refuse. So following a string of dates opening for the Disco Biscuits in early January, the band will perform again tonight, although in a more restrained setting. Technically speaking this is not a tour at all but rather a one-off. Moreover, it is truly a one-off as the trio will perform precisely one song on the Canadian Broadcast Corporation’s Play program. Individuals who are interested in attending the taping may do so, as the show originates from Movenpick Palavrion (no, that’s not a typo), near the CBC building in Toronto. Play is rebroadcast at 2:00 AM Friday morning, Friday night at 8PM, Saturday morning at 1AM and Saturday night at 11PM.
