On Saturday, Hot Buttered Rum and New Monsoons joint west coast tour came to a close with a near-sold out performance at San Franciscos Fillmore Auditorium. At the end of the evening, the two groups also shared a joint encore which opened with an on point cover of Led Zeppelins Kashmir sung by Hot Buttered Rums Erik Yates. The longtime friends then performed their tours unofficial anthem, a version of the Smokey and the Bandits Eastbound and Down reworked as Westbound and Down, before closing its performance with a version of the Bands The Weight. Hot Buttered Rum will perform Friday at Park City, UTs Suede Lounge and Nightclub, while New Monsoon is off until its February 17 gig at Chico, CAs The Oasis.
