The Grateful Dead and a few of the bands collaborators from over the years, will receive Grammy Lifetime Achievement Awards in February. The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences has announced the winners, which not only include the Dead but also Ornette Coleman and Joan Baez. Other recipients include The Doors, Booker T. & The MG’s, opera singer Maria Callas, and Bob Wills, who popularizes western swing with his band the Texas Playboys. The 49th Annual Grammy Awards will take place on February 11.
