Last night JJ Grey and MOFROs tour in support of Country Ghetto hit New Yorks Irving Plaza. During his performance Grey nodded to New Yorks own retro-soul community by inviting out Sharon Jones for the Mofro originals Gotta Know. Jones made the song her own, however, adding lyrics from both James Browns Mans World and Aretha Franklins Respect. MOFRO will appear at Philadelphias World Cafive tonight.
