Sam Champion, who is profiled in the On the Verge section of the current Relix, played its largest show to date last Friday at Brooklyn, NYs Prospect Park. The quartet played a free show on a bill with Elvis Perkins In Dearland and Cold War Kids, the latter of whom used the occasion to preview material from its forthcoming sophomore album. In order to flesh out their sound a bit, Sam Champion invited Guster percussionist Brian Rosenworchel to sit in for its entire performance, which included a heavy dose of material from the groups new album _ Heavenly Bender_. Rosenworchel produced the groups debut _ Slow Rewind_ a few years back.
