As the follow-up to 2016’s Let Me Get By, Tedeschi Trucks Band’s new album Signs will be released on Friday, Feb. 15.

However, you can listen to the entire album now – a week early – via NPR’s First Listen.

The new album features 11 new tracks from the soul-rock collective. It was recorded in 2017 at bandleaders Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi’s home studio in Jacksonville, Fla. and according to Trucks, it was written during an emotionally trying year for the band.

In 2017, mentors and family members like Col. Bruce Hampton, Butch Trucks and Gregg Allman all passed. However, Trucks explains that he is still able to reflect on his personal and musical experience will all three performers.

“The music they made was of a special time and place. I’m never going to recapture that stuff, but I’ve certainly been able to take the lessons I learned from them,” he told NPR.
