Les Claypool has announced that Primus is on indefinite hiatus. “I apologize, but there won’t be a Primus project for some time,” says Claypool. “But I can assure you that when it does materialize, Mr. Tim ‘Herb’ Alexander will once again be at the helm of his mighty mountain of drumsFrom my perspective, I see no real reason to continue doing Primus without Tim Alexander. The thought of working with Tim on some new Primus material is definitely exciting to me and hopefully (schedules permitting) it will happen sooner than later.” For now, the bassist is excited about his latest project, Les Claypool’s Flying Frog Brigade. “This is the greatest band I have ever been associated with…bar none. That’s a big difference because if you never lost it, you know that that voice is truly yours. If you go out and find your voice, you don’t know if that was the voice that you had in the beginning or not. Oteil is just one of my all time favorite musicians.”
