The Infamous Stringdusters turn 20 in 2026 and their present to fans is one song for each year via an LP titled 20/20

The release brings the ’Dusters’ diverse musical vision into laser focus as they skip across newgrass, traditional bluegrass and gospel music and stick to their core implements with the exception of adding harmonica to “Hard Times Ain’t that Hard Anymore.”

Bracketed by “Working Man Blues,” a modern update of a long-running bluegrass/country tradition, and the instrumental “Live Rosin,” 20/20 gives the five ’Dusters—fiddler Jeremy Garrett, guitarist Andy Falco, Dobroist Andy Hall, banjoist Chris Pandolfi and bassist Travis Book—plenty of time and space to show off their undiminished instrumental and vocal prowess.

As they settle into early-middle age, the musicians ponder mortality on “Dead Man Walking,” the hard edges time can leave on “The Way that I Was” and the bitch’s payback on “Karma’s Got Your Number”, which borrow its melody from “I am a Man of Constant Sorrow.” And while the themes are at times draped in existential dread, the music remains joyful while hope rises from the a cappella “Gospel 32 (Let Him Move)” and the balladic “Up from the Bottom.”
