Jay Farrar’s enduring Uncle Tupelo offshoot, Son Volt, has shared a new series of live dates, which will arrive in support of the ensemble’s latest album, Sound Signal Serenades. The impending live roster will pick up at Headliners in Louisville, Ky., on September 17, which represents the group’s first appearance during their initial touring leg, before a later bank of dates takes them out west.

After commencing the run in Louisville, Ky., Son Volt will keep pedaling their new music through the region, with stops scheduled for Knoxville, Tenn. (Sept. 18), Black Mountain, N.C. (Sept. 19), and Saxapahaw, N.C. (Sept. 20). Before completing their initial set of September dates, the band will bring their new LP to two Prairie State locations, Bloomington, Ill. (Sept. 22) and Evanston, Ill. (Sept. 23-24), before Sept. 25’s gig at Delmar Hall in St. Louis, Mo.

The second wave of concerts picks up on Nov. 13 at The Crocodile in Seattle, the first in a series of West Coast performances. They’ll travel down I-5 for their next gig, this time at Portland, Ore.’s Aladdin Theater. The final sequence of live shows is packaged as a California five-piece: Menlo Park Nov. 16), San Francisco (Nov. 17), Los Angeles (Nov. 19), Pioneertown (Nov. 20), and a San Diego finale (Nov. 21).

The band noted that Shannon McNally will serve as the opener at concerts scheduled for Sept. 17-24, before swapping spots with Jesse Farrar (the nephew of Jay Farrar), who will play on Sept. 25. The final slate of November dates will be supported by Kelly Willis.
