Dutch Interior have announced It’s Glass, a new EP due to release via Fat Possum on March 6. The Southern California alt-rock outfit’s follow-up to 2025’s Moneyball shows the lifelong friends trusting in their collaborative foundation with abandon, letting songs steeped in their musical understanding become vessels for unguarded emotion. To preview the set, they’ve shared the single “Ground Scores” with a video that matches its offbeat sensitivity.

“Ground Scores” runs on the homespun collision of slowcore and classic country that Dutch Interior transmuted on Moneyball, but more than ever, the song’s content outshines its eagerly hewn form. The songwriting collective of Jack Nugent, Conner Reeves, Davis Stewart, Noah Kurtz and brothers Shane and Hayden Barton go to the limits of longing in lyrics that are dreamily forthright and grounded by their earthy informality.

“‘Ground Scores’ is a love song, but it’s also a song about stumbling through the end times into something good,” the band explained in a statement. “It was inspired by finding something valuable and unexpected on the ground one night. I realized that this chance occurrence represented how life felt when things were going well: finite happiness left behind by someone else, only to be inevitably depleted.”

While they cut their celebrated third studio album at their self-built Long Beach Studio, Dutch Interior crafted It’s Glass at San Francisco’s famed Hyde Street Studios, working in the same atmosphere heard on records by the Grateful Dead, Neil Young and Willie Nelson. New gear let the band lean into their curiosity without losing the thread of expressive immediacy that thuds on as the stuttering heartbeat of their sound. “A lot of music recycles the same chords and melodic tendencies,” they shared. “It’s the emotion poured into these songs and the environment from which they are captured which makes them sound unique.”

It’s Glass is available to pre-order and pre-save now. Listen to “Ground Scores” and the lead single “Play the Song” below, and learn more about Dutch Interior at dutchinterior.net.
